For the city of Amsterdam we designed multiple unique water columns to assist in the struggle against flooding and damage due to heavy rainfall.

The columns would be placed in wadi's (green drainage zones) where they could spread excessive rainwater into buffer areas too slowly drain back into groundwater.

Fitting with the neighbourhoods name, Betondorp (Concrete Village), each of the unique water column designs could be 3d concrete printed and is generated by an algorithm mimicking biological growth.
